Community 2000

Community 2000 is a comprehensive, community-based program which mobilizes representatives of government, schools, the faith community, youth, concerned citizens and businesses to focus on combating alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among youth in the community. The result of the mobilization is a community task force that develops action plans to address alcohol and other drug issues in the community.

The task force organizes and trains parents and community leaders to become integral parts of its "prevention climate" and provides and supports healthy alternatives to alcohol and other drug use for young people. Currently, there are some 150 Community 2000 task forces in the state of Missouri.

For more information about Community 2000 programs, e-mail the Prevention Services Director at NCADD/Greater KC or call (816) 361-5900.
