Jean is responsible for community outreach and general management of the organization. Jean is always eager to hear from others who can help us improve our service and further our mission. She joined the staff at NCADD in 2001; she was formerly with Camp Fire Boys and Girls and Harvesters.

Ron has been the Director of Prevention Services at NCADD - Greater KC since November 1999. Prior to joining the Council, Ron worked in Drug Treatment for 9 years in the Kansas City area. It was during this time he became interested in drug prevention and worked as a prevention consultant for 6 years. His greatest pleasure in his position is to work directly with groups presenting educational programs and facilitating groups. He also enjoys working in a field where he has faith that the work he does will keep others from ever suffering through the pain of drug abuse and destructive decisions.

Preston joined NCADD/Greater KC in August 1991 and is currently the Director of Clinical Services. Preston has worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections and the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department. Preston has a BA degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City where he majored in sociology. He is nationally certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor II and is a Johnson Institute Certified Family Interventionist. He was certified as a Violence Interruption Process Educator in October 1998. Preston also serves as a consultant to the Midwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center's Counselor Preparation Program at UMKC.

Cheryl has a BS degree in Human Resource Management from Friends University, Wichita, KS. She has more than 15 years experience in the field of youth development, and most recently worked with Heartland Council of Camp Fire USA. She enjoys being involved with an organization that can make a difference in lives of people.


Gordon Stubblefield
Prevention Specialist

Gordon has been working in prevention for the Council since July 2001. Gordon works with the Urban Community 2000 teams of Blue Hills, Ivanhoe, Center School District, and Mid-Southeast as well as an Urban Core Youth Leadership team titled "N-R Vision". Before coming to the Council Gordon worked as a program director for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City. Gordon is a graduate of The Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, IN.

Julie Starbuck

Julie Starbuck is a prevention specialist for NCADD who works in Johnson and Lafayette counties. She works with the Community 2000 teams of Concordia, Higginsville, Lexington, Warrensburg, Knob Noster, and Holden. Julie has been a full time employee of NCADD since 1999 and worked part time for the council for three years prior to that date. She graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Julie became involved with drug prevention efforts in high school while attending the Western Regional Teen Institute. She feels that this field is of vital importance not only to the youth but also to all the citizens of our region.

Karen Schalker

Karen Schalker has been working at NCADD since January 2006. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Missouri and studied further at "Mizzou" in the field of Counseling and Personnel Services. After years of project management work in the corporate world, Karen transitioned to non-profit work two years ago. She is delighted to be working as a Prevention Specialist with Community 2000 teams in Jackson and Cass counties and with the youth-led C-2000 team, "Youth With Vision." Karen also coordinates the Western Regional Teen Institute.

Delores Jones

Delores Jones is the NCADD/Greater KC Office Manager.  Delores has been with the NCADD longer than any other employee and describes her job as wonderfully fulfilling. Delores feels that it is her job to make sure that everyone who walks through the doors of the NCADD feels respected, validated and welcomed.

Deborah Lee
Crisis Communication Coordinator

Deborah responds to all incoming calls and refers callers to appropriate resources either to NCADD staff or other agencies. She also prepares written reports to improve the crisis services offered through NCADD.  Deborah initially joined the staff after serving an 8-week internship through the Full Employment Council.
